General Rules
Welcome to Brasileiros.at! These rules exist to keep our community a safe, respectful, and useful space for Brazilians in Austria. By using the site, you agree to follow them. 1. Respect above all Treat every member with respect, even in disagreement. Personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, sexism, or any form of discrimination will not be tolerated. 2. No spam or excessive self-promotion Not allowed: repeated promotion of unrelated products/services, unmarked affiliate links, chain messages, pyramid schemes, or mass messaging. Occasional, relevant self-promotion (e.g., a Brazilian offering a service in their field) is allowed with good judgment. 3. Prohibited content Do not post illegal content, scams, phishing, pornography, graphic violence, incitement to violence, dangerous misinformation (e.g., health, visas, documentation), or other people's personal information without consent (doxxing). 4. Stay on topic Post threads and comments in the correct categories. Repeated off-topic content may be moved or removed by moderation. 5. Privacy and security Never publicly share sensitive data (national ID numbers, document numbers, full address, banking details). Moderators and site staff will never ask for your password. 6. Duplicate content Avoid recreating the same topic repeatedly. Search before opening a new thread. 7. Language Portuguese threads are the default, but content in other languages (German, English) is welcome when it makes sense for the community. Moderation and reports Any user may report content that violates these rules. The moderation team reviews each report and decides on the appropriate action, which may include removing content, editing it, warning the author, or banning. Possible bans Failure to follow these rules may result in: - Warning: for minor infractions or first occurrences, with an explanation of what needs to be corrected. - Temporary ban: for repeated or moderate infractions (e.g., recurring spam, insults), with a duration set by moderation (days to weeks). - Permanent ban: for serious or repeated infractions, including hate speech, scams, continued harassment, threats, sharing other people's personal data, or evading a previous ban (using an alternate account). Moderation may act without prior notice in serious cases. Ban decisions can be appealed by contacting the site team. These rules may be updated periodically. We recommend revisiting this page from time to time.
